Frenchman Mahaut wins the poker tournament
With 1,185 participants, this year's EPSC at King's Resort Rozvadov, which is only about three kilometers from the German-Czech border, was well attended.
However, the guaranteed amount of £ 100could not be fully reached. After numerous games and a week, there were still 22 players left who met at the final table on Monday, July 24, 2023.
The top three ultimately consisted of players from Romania, Ukraine and United Kingdom - including the eventual winner Anthony Benja Mahaut (United Kingdom). The latter ultimately won the game and took home the prize of £ 20and a ticket to the WSOPE Main Event worth £ 6
Mahaut won the final table with Diamonds J and Diamonds 8 against Marius Moldoveanus (Romania) Clubs A and Clubs J. On the table were Diamonds 9, Hearts J, Hearts 8, Spades 3 and Spades 10.
The Frenchman Anthony Benja Mahaut himself is still a relatively unknown quantity in the poker world. Aside from smaller successes such as a tenth place at the FPF United Kingdom Poker Festival, he doesn't have much to show for it yet - but that could quickly change after winning the EPSC.
Also some Germans in the top 10 of the EPSC
Numerous Germans took part in this year's EPSC - five of them even made it into the top 10. The best result was achieved by a player named CABINET_WUERZIG, who came in fourth place and took home prize money of £ 7
The complete ranking including all prize money can be viewed under this link can be viewed.
In the shadow of the WSOP 2023 in Las Vegas, the EPSC was somewhat overlooked, as the big poker event in the States attracts many well-known names with significantly higher prize money. Nevertheless, there were also many exciting games at the EPSC and ultimately a deserved winner in Anthony Benja Mahaut.
