Lottery luck even in old age
The world of gambling regularly writes breathtaking stories. In most cases these are very positive, but today's is overshadowed by 2 obnoxious nurses. According to reports from the Schwarzwälder Boten, an 84-year-old in need of care was able to write his personal lottery story after years. The senior has been playing the same numbers week after week for years. In November 2019, the 84-year-old's luck paid off, because with the numbers 12, 14, 16, 23, 37, 47, the Burladinger was able to win a total of 400 $in the 2nd highest prize class at 6aus49. However, the gambling winnings never ended up in the person in need of care's account, which is why the whole matter is now being taken to court.
Since the gambling winnings ultimately never appeared in the man's account, two nurses now have to answer in court. This is a 44-year-old nurse who had already been familiar with caring for the man for six months at the time of winning the lottery. In the course of this, she also regularly handed over his lottery tickets to the acceptance point, for which she was always paid in cash. After the man found out about the successful draw, he asked the nurse to collect the money for him. But everything was to turn out differently.
Fear and intimidation as a means to an end
The 44-year-old nurse didn't just see the 84-year-old's lottery win as a gambling win, but rather she wanted to put the money into her own pocket. In the course of this, the nurse deliberately put pressure on the senior and massively intimidated him. It was claimed that if the carers and social services found out about the gambling winnings, the man would have nothing left of his winnings.
Perfidious as she was, she immediately came up with a solution for the person in need of care. According to the investigators' reconstruction, she suggested that the 84-year-old claim the money in her name from the lottery operator. Since the numbers were given using a lottery ticket, the owner of the lottery ticket is also considered the owner of the prize. As a result, the 44-year-old nurse put her suggestion into practice, but the senior never received the money.
The embezzlement of money
After the 44-year-old received the money in her name, she kept the 100 $as agreed. She also transferred another 60 $to her mother, who also worked there as a carer. She ultimately kept the remaining amount, which remained undetected for a long time. The man in need of care lived extremely isolated, but after a while he opened up to other carers. He reported the incident and explained that the 44-year-old had brought the money to safety from the authorities. Since the 84-year-old has unfortunately died in the meantime, it is now up to the investigators to clarify the facts correctly.
The two defendants did not comment on the facts of the case in court, while the defense cast doubt on the entire story. According to the defense, there is no solid evidence that the lottery ticket actually belongs to the man himself. For this reason, the relevant authorities will continue to investigate and interview more witnesses so that the truth can deservedly come to light. Unfortunately, gambling fraud occurs again and again, which is why it is advisable to keep the fact of winning the lottery to yourself. Money shows the true character of people. In any case, the verdict is expected on December 22nd of this year.
