Real live roulette with a croupier is available at exactly one legal address in USA: at the Bayern Online casino. The nationwide GGL license only covers slots and poker, not roulette and other table games. I'll show you here what this means for the live game.

You can play these live roulette variants

At the Bayern Online casinos, players who live in Bavaria currently have three live tables for roulette available around the clock. They differ in speed, appearance and stake level.

Live Dealer Roulette

Here a real croupier spins the wheel, not the machine. You follow every round in the video and place your bets in real time. If you are looking for a roulette table like on site, this is the right choice.

Burgundy Live Auto Roulette

In Burgundy Live Auto Roulette, the wheel is controlled by a machine, not a dealer. I would still call it live roulette. The reduced design in a burgundy look keeps the view of the boiler free of distraction. The game is particularly suitable if you want to play many rounds in a short time.

VIP Live Auto Roulette

As the name suggests, this Auto Roulette table is intended for high rollers. Significantly higher stakes of up to 1 $are possible here. But nothing else changes; the process remains automatic and quick.

Attention: This game is also not live roulette in the classic sense because there is no dealer. But you still take part in automatic roulette via live stream.

This is how a round at the live roulette table works

A real croupier sits at the live table, filmed with an HD camera. Before each round you have a time window to place your chips. Then the ball falls in real time and you see the result immediately.

The etiquette remains the same as at a real table: polite and fair, even in the event of losses.

Inside bets: High payout, rare hit

These bets are right on the numbers. Few fields, but a lot of payouts.

• Plein (single number): pays 35:1
• Cheval (two numbers): pays 17:1
• Transversal (three numbers): pays 11:1
• Carré (four numbers): pays 8:1
• Sixain (six numbers): pays 5:1

Outside bets: Small payout, frequent hits

These bets cover large fields, meaning you have more security but potentially fewer payouts.

• Red/Black, Even/Odd, 1-18/19-36: pay 1:1 (easy odds)
• Dozen or column (twelve numbers): pay 2:1

My tip: The La Partage rule only applies to easy chances. If you play red/black, you get the best house edge right there.

Security and fairness: how you can recognize legal live offers

In live roulette, a camera films the real wheel; in virtual roulette, a random generator decides. What counts in both cases is: Does the game run cleanly and under supervision?

At legal online gaming halls and casinos you can be sure that everything is going well. Casino Bayern Online is state-operated and holds the corresponding license from the GGL and the government of the Upper Palatinate.

You should pay attention to this:

• Published payout rate: Reputable providers openly state the odds and work with independent test laboratories.
• Tested technology: The live stream is monitored and the random generator is independently tested so that every number remains equally likely.
• Player protection: The OASIS blocking system and the 1,000 euro monthly limit via LUGAS also apply to table games.

What this means for you in plain language: At a foreign casino without a German license you have none of these guarantees. Your deposited money is not safe and in the event of a dispute you have no one to turn to.

Conclusion: Legal live roulette exists, but only in Bavaria

The Bayern Online casinos are the only virtual casino to date that offers live roulette in USA. The catch, however, is that only players residing in Bavaria can enjoy the Keseel game. Anyone who lives outside of Bavaria will be left behind when it comes to live roulette.

Mark Seibert author and casino expert Live Roulette is pure atmosphere, but USA only leaves one window open

"No virtual table replaces the moment when a real croupier hits the ball and everyone watches spellbound. This exact game is only legally available in Bavaria and I find that surprisingly thin for an entire country. Nevertheless, I stick with it: I'd rather have a state-certified live table than a full-bodied promise from a provider without a German license. And perhaps the range of legal live roulette will continue to grow soon."
